Ready to start building? Here's how to do it!
Step 1: Download and print the PDF template/blocks.
The template has been carefully designed with subtle guides to help you draw you city block. You can grab the template PDF by clicking this link here., and you can download .png images of individual city blocks for reference or remixing (see: step 4!) from the Blocks page. Alternatively, you can download a .zip file full of all the latest blocks by clicking the handy downloads link here.
Step 2: Take a look at our tutorials.
These will take you step by step through the process of creating a city block from pencilling in your first simple block all the way to inking in your baroque masterpiece. The tutorials start with some very basic drawing concepts but even if you are a seasoned urban artist, you might find a few tips, trick, and general guidelines to make your buildings blend in more smoothly with the rest of the Infinicities art style.
Step 3: Post your finished creation!
Scan (great!) or take a clear photo (also good!) of your finished city block and email it to us here at infinicities@gmail.com (don't worry we'll have a nice custom email in a week or so!) along with your nom de plume of choice. Your submission will be tagged with your name and you will always be able to find it in the city block Gallery. Make sure you take a look at our step-by-step and video tutorials -coming soon- for guidelines on how to take the best photo of your work. (Yes, phone cameras are fine!) We will do our best to work with all the photos you send but If the photo we receive from you is too dark or uneven or distorted we might not be able to use it!
Step 4: Remix!
